How To Make Your Own Custom Wood Pens

If you are interested to make your own custom wood pens, here we will share the steps of making it.First, you need to gather some pieces of wood. The kind does not matter. However, you need to make sure that the size is around 8 inches in length. Take one piece and use it as a starter. Cut it into 1’’ x 1’’ x 8’’ with a table saw. Do not cut it in straight line; instead, make a full cut in wiggly line. After that, take another piece and cut it for 1/16 up to 1/8’’ for the thickness. The length is the same as the starter.
The next step in making custom wood pens is to use wood glue for the three pieces of wood. Put one new cut between the previous two. Place them in a vise then wait several minutes for the glue to dry. After that, you need to cut block back to square again. The amounts of cuts are up to you. Then, cut the block down into the dimension of ½ x ½ x 1/8’’. Choose one end as your pen then drill the hole for 1/8’’ to be the ink tube. Remember that you should not drill from one end to the other end. The drill bit can function as your lathe, but you can change it with the real one if you like it. Then sand the block round into certain diameter using sandpaper. To round the end, you can remove the bit then use dremel tool.
